Sometimes, on the rare early nights, when he got to sit with the hockey team after practice and someone would share their booze... he felt normal again.  Like he was part of the team.  It wouldn't take much once the lot of them started talking.  This was a while back now though, and by that he means back far enough that this was one of the nights when Nick and Sophie were still on the team.  They were all just recovering from laughing at the way Elisa told her tale.
    "Alright, alright.  Who's next?"
"Mine is greatness!  I stalked Moosh out and tackled him!... or not actually but I tackled him with my words so he'd agree!"
"Hrk!" Ethan had 2 seconds before his drink came out through his nose at the mental image of the girl dive-bombing her partner.  Nick laughed so hard at that he needed to lean on his glowing sister for support.  Half the group was breathless as Ethan swore and wiped at his nose.   "Fuck... ow... ugh."
"E-Ethan... You... You go. Don't drink-oh god- just talk."
    "Wha? Me?  We're brothers."
    "Yeah, but Nuka's a dog."
"Okay, okay so... aw hell from the start okay. So.  I got a puppy one year when I was like... 3 I think it was?   And we didn't know we just thought we got a dog right? And like, years later when I'm like.... 9."  At this point. He started to suffer intermittent giggles and laughter, which only made the others more prone to smiling and snickering.  "We, oh geeze, we went out to dinner and came home, heh heh, and there's this naked kid. hhheeee and he's just eating a god damn pillow! An-And so.  My mom starts SHRIEKING and Nuka pops his head up and gets this stupid look on his face and he's just--he's just so fucking HAPPY!"
At this point they lost him completely and only a few words were coherent.  Something about jumping and a tail.  Most of them were laughing at him laughing more than the story until he finally gained the ability to talk properly again.
"And so... so mom's flipped out... dad's got him sitting there with his coat and the whole time I'm just like.... waiting for it to get quiet before I get to ask "We're keeping him right?"... oh god.  Cause I was just thinking "I can play football with him!""  He chuckled as he settled down a bit, the story finished enough for him.  The others had already got a kick out of him loosing him.  He just had one last part to say.  "Thank god they kept him."
